Sabres' Leino suspended for one game

The NHL has suspended Buffalo Sabres forward Ville Leino one game without pay for elbowing Philadelphia Flyers forward Matt Read.

The incident occurred at 1:32 in the third period of the Flyers' 5-4 overtime victory on Wednesday night. No penalty was assessed on the play.

Leino will miss the Sabres' home game against Florida on Friday night. He will be eligible to return Saturday when Buffalo hosts the New York Rangers.

The NHL announced the discipline on Thursday. Leino will forfeit $24,324.32 in pay.
