BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) The Buffalo Sabres scrambled to recall three players from their AHL affiliate to fill an injury-depleted roster for their season finale against the New York Islanders.

Goalie Andrey Makarov, forward Nicolas Deslauriers and defenseman Mark Pysyk were promoted from Rochester on Sunday. The moves came a day after the Sabres lost five players to injuries in a 4-1 loss at Boston.

The five injured players included goalie Matt Hackett, who was carted off after hurting his right leg. Defenseman Christian Ehrhoff sustained a concussion while forwards Chris Stewart (leg), Matt D'Agostini (lower body) and Brian Flynn (lower body) were also hurt.

The Sabres (21-51-9) have very little to play for, having already clinched last place. The Islanders (33-37-11) will finish no higher than 26th overall.
