Report: Senators trade captain Spezza, Karlsson to Dallas for trio, pick

The Ottawa Senators have reportedly agreed to trade team captain Jason Spezza.
Spezza and right winger Ludwig Karlsson will join the Dallas Stars in exchange for right winger Alex Chiasson, left winger Alex Guptill, left winger Nicholas Paul and a 2015 second-round pick, pending a trade call, TSN reports.
Spezza was selected second overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and has spent his entire career with the Senators. According to TSN, he is entering the final of a seven-year deal with an average value of $7 million.
Spezza, 31, has scored 251 goals, 436 assists and 687 points in 686 games.
TSN reports that this is the second consecutive year the Senators will be searching for a new captain - Daniel Alfredsson signed a free-agent contract with Detroit in July 2013.
