Report: Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg to play in Game 4

Published Apr. 24, 2014 10:42 a.m. ET

Detroit Red Wings team captain Henrik Zetterberg, out since February with a back injury sustained during the Olympics, has been cleared for Thursday night’s Game 4 vs. the Boston Bruins, The Hockey News reported.

Zetterberg is expected to play only 10-12 minutes in the game, but his presence should be a real boost for the Red Wings, who have lost the past two games by a 7-1 combined margin after taking Game 1 of the series.

Before going down with his injury and then having Feb. 21 back surgery, Zetterberg had 48 points in 45 games for the Red Wings. That total was still tied for third-most on the team.
