Report: Paille signs professional tryout contract with Blackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks have extended a professional tryout contract to unrestricted free-agent forward Daniel Paille, according to a report from TSN's Darren Dreger.
Paille joins former Colorado Avalanche defenseman Jan Hejda as the only players offered a tryout contract by the Stanley Cup champions. The 37-year-old Hejda, who is also an unrestricted free agent, saw his four-year, $13 million contract expire at the end of the 2014-15 season.
Paille collected six goals and seven assists in 71 games last season with the Boston Bruins. The 31-year-old Ontario native spent six campaigns with Boston, helping the team win the Stanley Cup in 2011.
The 20th overall pick of the 2002 draft, Paille has scored 85 goals and set up 87 others in 570 career contests with the Buffalo Sabres and Bruins.
