Philadelphia Flyers goalie Steve Mason returned to on-ice training Sunday for the first time since he broke a finger on July 27, the Philadelphia Daily News reported.

Mason fractured his finger during a game of ball hockey in his hometown of Oakville, Ontario. At the time, Flyers general manager Ron Hextall said Mason would miss two weeks of training.

The Flyers are scheduled to open training camp with physicals on Sept. 18. On-ice practices begin Sept. 19.
