DETROIT (AP) The Detroit Red Wings have two key players back in the lineup, and are hoping a third returns soon.

Jimmy Howard started Friday night against Washington, coming back from a four-game absence after hurting his left knee for a second time this season. He is one of three goaltenders on the U.S. Olympic roster.

Forward Henrik Zetterberg faced the Capitals after missing two games with a back injury. He will be Sweden's captain at the Sochi Games.

Red Wings general manager Ken Holland says he hopes forward Pavel Datsyuk will play at least one game within the next week. Datsyuk has missed 12 games with a lower-body injury. The captain of Russia's team has vowed he will be healthy enough to go for gold in his home country.
