Detroit Red Wings forward Johan Franzen underwent successful surgery to repair a ligament in his left knee on Friday. The team said Franzen was expected to miss at least four months because of the injury sustained on Oct. 8 during a 3-2 victory over Chicago, in which the Swede scored the game-winning goal. Red Wings coach Mike Babcock also said Pavel Datsyuk will sit out Saturday's game against Colorado with an upper-body injury sustained on Tuesday against Buffalo. The NHL All-Star center didn't play in Thursday's 5-2 win over Los Angeles.
