Red Wings call up Kindl from AHL Grand Rapids

The Detroit Red Wings recalled defenseman Jakub Kindl from the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old Czech native was picked 19th in the 2005 draft and made his NHL debut with the Red Wings on Dec. 3. He went scoreless in two games for Detroit.

Kindl has appeared in 27 games with the Griffins this season with 13 assists.

Kindl was available for Wednesday night's Red Wings game against the visiting Chicago Blackhawks.
