Rangers recall defenseman Brady Skjei from Hartford of AHL

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) The New York Rangers have recalled defenseman Brady Skjei from Hartford of the American Hockey League.

General manager Jeff Gorton announced the move on Tuesday, hours before the Rangers played the Devils in Newark, New Jersey.

Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh is going to miss his third straight game with a jaw injury and neck spasms.

Skjei has skated in two games with the Rangers this season, registering two shots on goal and two penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut on Dec. 15 against Edmonton.

The 21-year-old has skated in 52 games with the Wolf Pack, collecting three goals and 19 assists.
