NEW YORK (AP) The New York Rangers have hired Keith McCambridge to be an assistant coach of the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL).
General manager Jeff Gorton announced the hiring Wednesday.
The 42-year-old McCambridge spent the previous five seasons as the head coach for two of the Winnipeg Jets' AHL teams - the St. John's IceCaps (2011-15) and the Manitoba Moose last season. He also was an assistant coach with Manitoba for two seasons (2009-10 and 2010-11), working with Rangers' current associate head coach Scott Arniel.
McCambridge also spent six seasons with Alaska of the ECHL. Prior to coaching, McCambridge played 11 seasons of minor league hockey.
