Radim Vrbata harangued by 6-year-old son about lack of scoring
Vancouver Canucks forward Radim Vrbata is one of three players on the Canucks roster who has yet to record a point this season, a surprising stat given that Vrbata led the team in goals last season and finished third on the roster in overall points. While the sample size is small given that Vrbata has played just six games so far this year, it seems everybody is starting to bug the forward about scoring.
That crowd of critics includes Vrbata's six-year-old son, Krystof.
"My older son is all over me now,” Vrbata told The Vancouver Sun. "When he is all over me, then it is getting really tough."
The Canucks, like young Krystof, are looking to spark Vrbata. Coach Willie Desjardins recently moved Vrbata back to a line with Henrik and Daniel Sedin. The trio spent parts of last season on a line together, and the move could also help spark Henrik (two points) and Daniel (four points), who are not quite at top form yet this season either.
There is no word as to whether Krystof Vrbata is all over the Sedins about their production as well, but perhaps he will be just the motivation his father needs to get back on track this season.
