Pronger returns with Flyers facing elimination

Published Apr. 24, 2011 4:14 p.m. ET

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger is back in the lineup with his team facing elimination against the Buffalo Sabres in their first-round playoff series

Pronger returned for Game 6 on Sunday afternoon after missing 21 games since having surgery to repair a broken right hand. The Flyers struggled in going 8-7-6, including the playoffs, without the rugged defenseman.

Buffalo leads the series 3-2.

Michael Leighton got the start, becoming the third Flyers goalie to start this series.

Leighton took over in the first period of Game 5 after Brian Boucher allowed three goals on 11 shots. Leighton made 20 saves before allowing Tyler Ennis' overtime goal in Buffalo's 4-3 win.
