B's cut defenseman Bartkowski

The Boston Bruins have assigned defenseman Matt Bartkowski to the AHL's Providence Bruins, which brings their roster down to the 23-man limit for the regular season. Forward Brian McGrattan remains with the team on a tryout agreement, but is unsigned and thus doesn't count against the roster. Neither does Nolan Schaefer as the third goalie on the overseas trip. He will be sent to Providence after the Bruins open their season in Prague with games against Phoenix Saturday and Sunday. Bartkowski will stay with the Bruins until they return to the U.S., but cannot practice.
