Swiss defenseman Roman Josi and Finnish goaltender Atte Engren have signed entry-level contracts with the Nashville Predators.

The team announced the deals Friday.

Josi (YO-see) signed a three-year deal. The 6-foot-1, 198-pound defenseman was the 38th pick overall in the 2008 NHL draft. He led Swiss defensemen with three points and a plus-3 rating in seven games at the World Championships in May.

He was named to the Swiss team for the 2010 Olympics, but was injured and did not play.
