Predators sign forward to 1-year contract

The Nashville Predators have signed forward Marcel Goc to a one-year extension worth $775,000.

General manager David Poile announced the signing Wednesday. The 26-year-old Goc (GAWCH) already has a career-high 10 goals in 49 games in his first year with the Predators. He is three points away from the 22 points scored in his rookie season in 2005-06 with San Jose.

The German Olympian is winning 51.5 percent of his face-offs with 16 points coming in his last 25 games.
