Pens' Staal skates, might play Game 4

Pittsburgh Penguins center Jordan Staal skated with his teammates only five days after undergoing surgery to repair a severed tendon in his right foot.

Staal skated for about an hour on Wednesday after cutting his foot on the skate of Montreal Canadiens rookie P.K. Subban in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series on Friday.

Staal was clearly favoring his right foot in practice but said he felt "great'' after the session.

Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said he was comfortable with how Staal skated but stopped short of saying Staal was a possibility for Game 4 on Thursday night in Montreal.

It was the second straight day Staal put on his skates. He skated for about five minutes in a track suit on Tuesday.
