Panthers LW Olesz out with hand injury

Florida Panthers left wing Rostislav Olesz has missed the team's game against the Buffalo Sabres because of a nagging hand injury.

To fill Olesz's spot in the lineup on Wednesday, the Panthers recalled left wing Jeff Taffe from Rochester of the American Hockey League.

Olesz continued playing after he was initially hurt during a 4-1 win at Toronto on March 23. He has 13 goals and 14 assists in 73 games.

For Buffalo, left wing Raffi Torres returned after missing six games with a hand injury. To make room, the Northeast Division-leading Sabres returned rookie Mark Mancari to Portland of the American Hockey League.

Torres has only two assists in seven games for the Sabres since being acquired in a trade with Columbus on March 3.
