Pair of Bruins combine for four goals at IIHF World Championships (GIFs)

Although the Bruins are not in the playoffs, two Bruins players were stars on the ice at IIHF World Championships Monday. Loui Eriksson recorded a hat trick in Team Sweden's 8-1 win over Latvia, while Torey Krug scored a power-play goal in a huge 4-2 win for Team USA over Russia. Both Krug and Eriksson were named their respective teams' player of the game.

Krug's goal broke what was at the time a 1-1 tie and helped Team USA end a 12-game tournament win streak for the Russians.

Eriksson scored early and often for the Swedes, as he tallied three of the team's first four goals. His first goal came off a lucky bounce at the end of the first period.

The second goal was a power-play backhander off a rebound.

Eriksson's third goal was less flashy, as he deflected a shot from the point past the netminder.

According to Boston.com, while Europeans generally do not throw hats on the ice for hat tricks, a few fans did toss their caps in honor of Eriksson.
