Buffalo Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta was suspended for two games by the NHL on Saturday, a day after his hit on Philadelphia Flyers forward Jared Ross.

Kaleta was assessed a major penalty for boarding in Buffalo's 4-2 victory. Ross didn't return to the game.

Kaleta will miss Buffalo's game against Carolina on Saturday and Toronto on Monday.

He will lose more than $5,400 in pay, with the money going to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
