Plenty was made of the selection of Seth Jones, son of former NBA player Ronald "Popeye" Jones, who was taken fourth overall by the Nashville Predators in Sunday's NHL Draft. But just three picks later, another prospect with some lofty sporting bloodlines heard his name called.
Darnell Nurse, a defenseman from Sault Ste. Marie of the Ontario Hockey League, was the second defenseman taken (Jones was the first), going to Edmonton seventh overall. Naturally, his family was estatic, and his uncle was one of the first people two tweet his joy.

Now, McNabb knows a thing or two about drafts, receiving one of the most infamous welcomes in NFL Draft history after he was selected second overall by Philadelphia in 1999 — the Eagles fans in attendance had their hearts set on running back Ricky Williams.
It wasn't something lost on Nurse.
"Yeah, we're even," Nurse told CBS sports about his and his uncle's draft statuses. "Because he went higher than me but I didn't get booed at my draft. So we're even."
