The New York Islanders are preparing for the season as rookies are expected to hit camp on Friday. The Vets report one week later on the 23rd. What are some of the questions or talking points during training camp.
Andy Graziano makes some interesting points. The first thing brought up is the lack of Ilya Sorokin. The 21 year old is expected to be the goalie of the future but he’s currently playing in the KHL.
It will be a while before he is able to come over and be a factor, although he got his first taste of the US during the Isles summer rookie camp.

Can Casey Cizikas replace Frans Nielsen? Chimera replaces Martin and Ladd replaces Okposo, but it isn’t Parenteau that steps in for Nielsen, it’s actually Cizikas. His minutes should increase and he is going to have to play in tougher defensive situations.
When will Ryan Strome sign? It’s been awhile now, but Strome is expected to sign before camp gets under way. Supposedly the last thing they are working on is terms before they can get a signature.
