New York Islanders Daily: Parenteau Out, Now What?
A look around the web at the most recent New York Islanders news. Make Eyes On Isles your go to website for all things Islanders.
Garth Snow and the New York Islanders came out of the clouds yesterday and decided to put P.A. Parenteau on waivers. This came as a complete shock as he was expected to be slotted next to John Tavares on the top line.
Now, Parenteau isn’t the ideal top line winger, but as a band-aid he was a relatively cheap fix. The question remains who will step up and play with Tavares on the top line.
The two most impressive kids have been Anthony Beauvillier and Mathew Barzal, they have the best chance to make the roster. While Josh Ho-Sang is extremely exciting, the question remains; is he ready for the NHL?
Most likely it’ll be a veteran to get the call to play with Tavares. Maybe it’s Jason Chimera, or Brock Nelson. Maybe Garth Snow makes a surprise trade?
Snow has a lot of tough decisions on his hands to get the roster in shape. The final roster has to be narrowed down to 23 by 5:00 pm this evening. It should be interesting.

Isles Tweet Of The Day
With their willingness to lose Parenteau I’d imagine that Beauvillier and/or Barzal are going to get more than 9 NHL games this year. #Isles
