Bleacher Report has released their NHL Week 4 Power Rankings. How did the New Jersey Devils do in the latest rankings?

The New Jersey Devils are off to a very good start this season, and that good start continued last week. Despite a tough week on the schedule, the Devils were able to pick up five points in three games.

On Tuesday, the Devils were able to defeat the Arizona Coyotes rather easily by a score of 5-3. Coming into that game, scoring was an issue for the Devils, but two goals and an assist by Taylor Hall helped the Devils get the win to start the week.

The following game against the Chicago Blackhawks was arguably the toughest for the Devils. Due to a back-to-back on the schedule, Keith Kinkaid made the start for the Devils on Friday. Against a dangerous Blackhawks team, Kinkaid played well, as he saved 26 of 29 shots that he faced. The Devils came up short in overtime, as a goal by Artem Anisimov resulted in the overtime loss.

On Saturday night, however, the Devils bounced back with a 3-1 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The win against the Lightning was a nice revenge win for the Devils after losing to them in the second game of the season. Cory Schneider was fantastic after being given the night off before, as he made 32 saves on 33 shots.

In Bleacher Report’s Week 4 NHL Power Rankings, the Devils moved up six spots to 12th after the nice week. The formula for the Devils’ success is rather easy to see, strong goaltending from Schneider, and have Hall lead them on offense.

The Devils are now 4-2-2 on the season with 10 points. This coming week, the Devils have a long layoff before they play the Florida Panthers, the Lightning, and the Carolina Hurricanes all on the road starting on Thursday.

A strong road trip for the Devils could result in them being in the Top 10 of the Power Rankings next week.
