Montreal Canadiens Sign Defensive Prospect Stefan LeBlanc
Montreal Canadiens Have Signed Defensive Prospect Stefan LeBlanc to a One Year, One Way Deal in the AHL.
News has come in Tuesday afternoon that the Montreal Canadiens have signed OHL defensive prospect Stefan Leblanc to a one-year one-way deal with the AHL. The 21-year-old Leblanc just finished his fourth year in the OHL for Mississauga putting up 37 points and 101 penalty minutes on the season, the best statistic is probably his plus 24 rating.

He and the rest of the Steelheads made it to the OHL finals where they lost to the Erie Otters in five games, he still had a solid post-season appearing in 20 games and adding to his plus/minus statistic with a plus 11.
Leblanc has played a total of 258 career OHL games all of which were with Mississauga notching 120 career points. He also has 255 career points with a career plus/minus rating of -24. He's definitely going to be a top six defenseman in the AHL for Montreal but if he ends up receiving a two-way contract for the NHL after next season is yet to be seen.
He's still young and has solid size, 6'0" and 200 pounds, so if he can fine tune his game some more he could definitely see an extension at the end of the year. Either way, Montreal has signed a very promising defenseman that still has five to six years left of growth before he hits his prime.
