Malkin credited with Penguins' game-winning goal

Evgeni Malkin has been credited with the game-winning overtime goal in the Pittsburgh Penguins' 5-4 victory over the New York Rangers on Thursday night.

Malkin was initially credited with the power-play goal on a shot from the left circle that deflected off Rangers forward Brandon Dubinsky and past goalie Henrik Lundqvist. After a postgame video review, Jordan Staal was given his second goal of the game because it appeared the shot also deflected off him.

Staal later told Penguins officials he did not touch the shot, and the NHL changed the goal upon additional review on Friday.

Malkin has 22 goals in 57 games. He was the NHL scoring champion last season.
