Linesman punches player, gets tackled by trainer

A linesman often has to interject himself into the action in order to break up a fracas on the ice.

Originally that looked to be the case during a recent Greater Metro Junior A league game in Ontario before this linesman elected to get in some offense of his own.

After order appeared to be restored following a spirited scrap between London Lakers captain Michael Wooley and Kingsville Kings defenseman Devin Darrah, the linesman unleashed a shot and pushed Wooley to the ice.

Lakers teammate Jonathan DaSilva came to the defense of his mate before being sent down by the linesman, prompting a team trainer to rush onto the ice to tackle the zebra.

The Hockey News cited that eight players were ejected from the contest. It's uncertain if the official gave himself a penalty for roughing, much less a game misconduct.
