Lightning go back to basics in pre-Game 4 practice

The Lightning are down 2-1 in their first-round playoff series against the Red Wings, but Tampa hasn't lost its confidence yet. After getting shut out, 3-0, in Game 3, Tampa is focusing on where it went wrong ahead of a crucial Game 4 on Thursday.

The work begins in practice, and captain Steven Stamkos told the Tampa Bay Times that Wednesday's practice was one of the team's best. The Bolts zeroed in on the power play (which was 0-for-13 through the two losses) and the neutral zone break out, where awry passing in Game 3 greatly hurt the Lightning.

"What we didn’t do is make them have to play a whole 200 feet,” Lightning coach Jon Cooper told the Tampa Bay Times. “We made the game easy on them."
