Korpikoski, Talbot lift Oilers past Jets 2-1

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) Lauri Korpikoski scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period and Cam Talbot made 39 saves as the Edmonton Oilers edged the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 on Sunday night.

Patrick Maroon also scored for Edmonton, which moved out of last place in the Western Conference - one point ahead of Calgary and tied with Winnipeg with 59 points.

Mark Scheifele scored the lone goal for Winnipeg, a day after his first career NHL hat trick.

Talbot made a sprawling glove save midway through the third period to retain the lead and earn his 16th win of the season. Ondrej Pavelec picked up his 10th loss after allowing two goals on 31 shots.
