Roberto Luongo and Eddie Lack squared off between the pipes Sunday afternoon, but Vancouver Canucks defenseman Kevin Bieksa came away with the best save of the game.
Luongo, the former Canucks netminder who recently was dealt to the Panthers, faced Lack and his former team in Florida, and Bieksa reminded his ex-teammate of the defense he's missing out on.
With the Canucks clinging to a 3-2 lead in the third period, the Panthers had a great opportunity to tie the game when Colby Robak tipped a flying puck past Lack.
Bieksa maintained Vancouver'€™s lead, though, as he skated into the crease and made a miraculous kick save that bailed out his goalie.
The Panthers ended up scoring later in the period, but the Canucks went on to win in a shootout.
