James Reimer is not celebrating Jonathan Bernier's blown shot at starting job

It looks like James Reimer will be the starting goalie for the Maple Leafs for now after a disastrous start by Jonathan Bernier against the Rangers Sunday accompanied by strong performances of late by Reimer have made Reimer the top choice in net. But Reimer said he is not celebrating the Bernier miscues which awarded Reimer the starting job.

"When you are sitting there watching it, your heart just sinks," Reimer said of seeing Bernier let in a goal from center ice Sunday. "It's something you never want to see happen, especially to your teammate. Sometimes those saves are the hardest to make and yet they don't look good. Every goalie understands and feels for him."

The Leafs starting job is still tenuous in the long term, however, as it appears coach Mike Babcock will put whichever goalie is playing best in net at any given time. Should Reimer start to struggling in subsequent outings, his early victory in the netminding competition could go up in smoke.
