Islanders' Grabovski placed on IR after hit from Predators' Nystrom

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 11:29 p.m. ET

Islanders F Mikhail Grabovski was placed on injured reserve Friday, one day after taking a hit from Predators F Eric Nystrom in the first period of Thursday's win vs. Nashville.

Grabovski, who has a history of concussions, lay momentarily motionless on the ice and was attended to by the team's medical staff. He eventually rose to his feet and skated off the ice, but did not return to the game.

Grabovski also took a big, but clean, hit last October from the Sharks' John Scott.
