RALEIGH, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes have activated goalie Cam Ward from injured reserve.

General manager Ron Francis announced the move Tuesday night after the Hurricanes' 5-0 win over Chicago in their final game before the All-Star break.

Ward was placed on IR last Wednesday with a concussion and Carolina went 3-1 in his absence to climb to 10th place in the Eastern Conference. He is 14-11-5 this season with a goals-against average of 2.41, and he's stopping 90.5 percent of the shots he faces.

The Hurricanes also sent forward Phil Di Giuseppe and goaltender Daniel Altshuller to their AHL affiliate in Charlotte. Altshuller backed up Eddie Lack while Ward was out.
