'Full recovery' expected for Quenneville
Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville was released from the hospital Saturday after suffering gastrointestinal bleeding, the team said.
"Joel was released from the hospital today and is resting comfortably at home. We will continue to monitor him and still anticipate a full recovery," head team physician Dr. Michael Terry said in a statement.
"We are working to determine when it is best for him to return to his coaching duties."
The team had earlier said the 52-year-old, Stanley Cup-winning coach was hospitalized because of a small ulcer caused by aspirin.
The Blackhawks host Pittsburgh on Sunday, visit St. Louis on Monday, then travel to Nashville next Thursday.
In Quenneville's absence, assistant coach Mike Haviland guided Chicago to a victory over Minnesota on Wednesday and in a loss to Columbus on Friday.
