Johan Franzen's third-period goal broke a tie, and Henrik Zetterberg and Todd Bertuzzi both had a goal and an assist in the Detroit Red Wings' 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.

Nicklas Lidstrom also scored for Detroit. Pavel Datsyuk had two assists, and Jimmy Howard made 34 saves.

Mikael Backlund scored both of Calgary's goals, and Curtis Glencross assisted on each. Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 26 shots.

Franzen, who returned after missing a game because of a head injury, snapped a 2-2 tie 7:55 into the third period when his shot bounced off Kiprusoff's mask and shoulder before rolling down his back and into the net. Franzen's fourth goal of the season was confirmed by video review.

Bertuzzi netted his second of the season with 3:17 left.

Lidstrom's power-play goal made it 2-2 at 3:51 of the second period. He beat Kiprusoff with a one-timed slap shot from the middle of the ice.

Backlund's first goal opened the scoring with 4:24 left in the first period when he put in a one-timed shot from the slot.

Zetterberg tied it with 2:30 left in the frame with a goal from the bottom of the left circle. But Backlund put the Flames back in front 40 seconds later when he chipped in a loose puck from in front.
