WASHINGTON (AP) Philadelphia Flyers goalie Steve Mason has left the game against the Washington Capitals on Sunday midway through the second period because of an undisclosed injury.
With play stopped due to a penalty call, Mason went to the bench and had to be assisted by trainers to the locker room.
He was replaced by Ray Emery.
The Flyers led 1-0 when Mason left, but Washington soon tied it on a power-play goal by Alex Ovechkin.
