Flames' arena flooded beyond belief

Published Jun. 22, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

You've witnessed the Metrodome roof in Minneapolis collapse under snow and the Superdome in New Orleans trashed by Katrina, but you've never seen an arena devastated like this.

Flooding in Calgary has left much of the Scotiabank Saddledome underwater, and the pictures on the Flames' website are unbelievable.

The flooding reportedly reached as high as the 14th row, and the team tweeted that "it is a total loss on the event level." Both locker rooms were heavily damaged and the scoreboard control room is beyond salvaging, reports said.

Despite the devastation, the team is looking to be ready for the start of next season.
