Ducks score on first three shots
Teemu Selanne and defensemen Sami Vatanen and Nolan Yonkman scored on Anaheim's first three shots against Phoenix Coyotes rookie Mark Visentin, and the Ducks earned a 6-2 victory Monday night in their preseason opener.
Yonkman's short-handed goal came 2:59 in, and Daniel Winnik capped Anaheim's four-goal first period. Hampus Lindholm connected during a 5-on-3 power play in the second, Emerson Etem also had a goal, and Andrew Cogliano had three assists.
Both starting goalies sat out the third period. Jonas Hiller stopped 12 of 13 shots for the Ducks. Visentin, one of two first-round picks by the Coyotes in the 2010 draft, made 18 saves.
Guillaume Latendresse and Chris Brown scored for Phoenix.
Coyotes enforcer Paul Bissonnette was suspended for 10 regular-season games by the NHL on Monday for leaving the bench to fight Los Angeles' Jordan Nolan on Sunday. Nolan had leveled Coyotes defenseman Rotislav Klesla with a hit that left him with a concussion and whiplash.
