Ducks G Hiller skips start with back spasms

Published Mar. 30, 2010 3:55 a.m. ET

Goalie Jonas Hiller isn't starting for the Anaheim Ducks after experiencing back spasms during warmups for their game against the Dallas Stars.

Hiller was held out of Monday night's game for precautionary reasons, the Ducks announced during the first period.

The Swiss netminder also didn't play in the Ducks' 3-2 win at Edmonton on Friday night, missing his first game since Jan. 27. That break wasn't related to injury for Hiller, who had played in 19 straight games.

Hiller was replaced in both games by Curtis McElhinney, who made his first two starts since joining the Ducks in a trade with Calgary on March 3.
