Anaheim Ducks forward Tim Jackman will be out for four to six weeks with a lower-body injury.

The Ducks made the announcement Wednesday before hosting Montreal.

Jackman was injured Sunday during Anaheim's victory at Dallas in a collision with Ales Hemsky. He was scratched from Tuesday's win at Arizona.

Jackman is a grinding forward who has capably filled a physical role on the Pacific Division-leading Ducks' depth lines, getting five goals and two assists in 53 games. The veteran agreed to a one-year, $700,000 contract extension last month, a reward for his solid season.

Jackman's absence will force another roster adjustment by the Ducks, who made six trades near the deadline. Forward Tomas Fleischmann and defenseman Simon Despres debuted with the Ducks at Arizona on Tuesday.
