Not only will the New Jersey Devils be looking to protect their home ice during the Eastern Conference Finals, but the organization has launched a campaign to also protect the home stands from rival Rangers fans.
Announcing the No Blue campaign Tuesday, the team cautioned fans not to post their tickets on the secondary market to ensure blue-shirted fans do not find their way in to Newark's Prudential Center. The Devils instead pointed out fan websites where supporters could sell tickets.
"Blogs such as Fire and Ice, In Lou We Trust, and HFBoards provide you with outlets to speak directly with other Devils fans who are looking for seats," the message stated.
"This will ensure you are selling ONLY to other Devils fans. You can ask for pictures or meet them to deliver tickets, to ensure where their loyalty lies."
As a second alternative, the team suggested ticket-sellers call the Devils Fan Experience Team, where someone will help them find a Devils-supporting buyer.
The Rangers scored a 3-0 victory at Madison Square Garden Monday night in the series opener. Game 2 is Wednesday night, with the series shifting to Newark for Game 3 on Saturday.
