DETROIT (AP) Detroit Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk will miss Friday night's game with the New Jersey Devils because of a groin injury, the team announced 30 minutes before faceoff.

Datsyuk, who has five goals and five assists in eight games this season, suffered the injury in a team skate earlier Friday.

The Red Wings return to Joe Louis Arena looking to snap a three-game winless streak on their first extended road trip of the year. They are 4-1-1 at home this season.
