Detroit Red Wings vs. Washington Capitals 2016: Live Stream, TV Info & Game Odds

The Detroit Red Wings take on the red hot Washington Capitals tonight from the Verizon Center in Washington D.C.

In a year that has been full of streaks one way or another for Detroit, the Wings enter tonight’s game hoping to start a positive one against the Capitals. That might not be so easy, especially at the Verizon Center.

Washington, who is 10-4-2 on the season, is 5-2 at home and 7-2-1 in their last 10 games overall. Unfortunately  for the The Red Wings, they are trending the opposite way. Detroit has only won three games in their last 10 overall, and have not really played well since their six game winning they had over two weeks ago.

We are approaching Thanksgiving, which is the unwritten first quarter mark for many NHL experts, and it is still hard to get a read on the Wings.

Detroit played well in their last contest vs. the Tampa Bay Lighting, but gave up the game winning goal with only two plus minutes to go in the 4-3 loss at Joe Louis Arena. They also lost forward Darren Helm for 6 to 8 weeks in that game after he suffered a dislocated shoulder.

The Wings called up Tyler Bertuzzi from Grand Rapids. Bertuzzi along with Riley Sheahan are expected to replace Helm for the time being. Wings coach Jeff Blashill knows this will be a good opportunity for Bertuzzi and Sheahan to step up and fill the the vacancy.

“With Darren’s injury, that could give some more opportunity to Riley,” Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill told the Detroit Free Press. “He had lots of opportunity early, and then his opportunity went away here in the last little bit. It’s hard to produce when you don’t get the opportunity.”

Las Vegas odds makers have the Capitals listed as big favorites in tonight’s game at -200. The over/under goal total is set at 5.

Tonight’s game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be aired on FOX Sports Plus in Detroit. The game can also be seen streaming live through the FOX Sports Go app.
