Sidney Crosby was scratched from the lineup shortly before the Pittsburgh Penguins played the Boston Bruins on Saturday.

He participated in Saturday's pregame warmup but did not return for the start of the game.

"I would say it's not an injury," Penguins coach Mike Johnston after the 2-0 loss to the Bruins. "He didn't get himself injured in the warmup. He just wasn't feeling well and went to see the doctors."

The team announced Sunday that Crosby will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Detroit Red Wings.

Pittsburgh also played most of Saturday's game without its other star center, Evgeni Malkin, who limped to the dressing room after being hit by Boston left winger Chris Kelly 1:29 into the first period. Malkin returned and played 4:15 in the first period, then sat out the remainder of the game.

Johnston did not specify the nature of Malkin's injury, but the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports it is a lower-body injury. He will not play Sunday.

Crosby is among the NHL's leading scorers with 70 points. He was replaced Saturday by Craig Adams, who joined the game during the first period after originally being listed as out of the lineup.

Malkin has 28 goals and 40 assists in 63 games this season.
