Coyotes recall D Samuelsson from AHL's Portland, waive 2 others

The Arizona Coyotes have recalled defenseman Philip Samuelsson from Portland of the AHL.

Arizona also waived defensemen Chris Summers and forward Brandon McMillan.

The 23-year-old Samuelsson had a goal and a pair of assists in 16 games with the Pirates. He is the son of former NHL player Ulf Samuelsson.

McMillan has a goal and two assists in 38 games with the Coyotes. Summers has three assists in 14 games.

Arizona entered Tuesday's game against San Jose 13th in the Western Conference with 36 points.
