Coyotes claim Sekac off waivers from Blackhawks

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) The Arizona Coyotes have claimed forward Jiri Sekac off waivers from the Chicago Blackhawks.

The 23-year-old Sekac had an assist in six games with Blackhawks after being traded from Anaheim for Ryan Garbutt. The Czech Republic native had a goal and two assists in 22 games with the Ducks.

Sekac has 10 goals and 17 assists in 97 career NHL games in a career that started with Montreal. He has yet to play a full NHL season.
