Conference finals schedule scenarios

The schedule for the Eastern Conference finals of the Stanley Cup playoffs is set.

The No. 4-seed Boston Bruins will face the top-seeded Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 1 on Saturday at Consol Energy Center at 8 p.m. ET.

That schedule is as follows (all times Eastern):

Game 1: Saturday, June 1 at 8 p.m. in Pittsburgh
Game 2: Monday, June 3 at 8 p.m. in Pittsburgh
Game 3: Wednesday, June 5 at 8 p.m. in Boston
Game 4: Friday, June 7 at 8 p.m. in Boston
Game 5: Sunday, June 9 at 8 p.m. in Pittsburgh (if necessary)
Game 6: Tuesday, June 11 in Boston (if necessary, time TBD)
Game 7: Wednesday, June 12 in Pittsburgh (if necessary, time TBD)

With a Game 7 win over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Kings return to the Western Conference finals. The defending champions will play either the top-seeded Chicago Blackhawks or the No. 7-seed Detroit Red Wings, who play in a Game 7 on Wednesday.

If the Blackhawks win, Game 1 between the Kings and Blackhawks will be on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET at United Center in Chicago.

That schedule would look as follows (all times Eastern):

Game 1: Saturday, June 1 at 5 p.m. in Chicago
Game 2: Sunday, June 2 at 8 p.m. in Chicago
Game 3: Tuesday, June 4 at 9 p.m. in Los Angeles
Game 4: Thursday, June 6 at 9 p.m. in Los Angeles
Game 5: Saturday, June 8 at 8 p.m. in Chicago (if necessary)
Game 6: Monday, June 10 at 9 p.m. in Los Angeles (if necessary, time TBD)
Game 7: Wednesday, June 12 in Chicago (if necessary, time TBD)

If the Red Wings win, Game 1 between the Kings and Red Wings will be on Friday at 9 p.m. ET at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

That schedule would look as follows (all times Eastern):

Game 1: Friday, May 31 at 9 p.m. in Los Angeles
Game 2: Sunday, June 2 at 8 p.m. in Los Angeles
Game 3: Tuesday, June 4 at 8 p.m. in Detroit
Game 4: Thursday, June 6 at 8 p.m. in Detroit
Game 5: Saturday, June 8 at 8 p.m. in Los Angeles (if necessary)
Game 6: Monday, June 10 at 8 p.m. in Detroit (if necessary)
Game 7: Wednesday, June 12 in Los Angeles (if necessary, time TBD)
