Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Revenge Game Again
Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The World Cup of hockey doesn’t seem to be building up much steam yet with you know this little thing called the football season just starting, but tonight will be a big test for the tournament and the ratings when Team USA squares off against Team Canada.
I’ve watched a little bit of the World Cup of Hockey so far, and it’s been ok to me but nothing that is must see TV yet.
I watched Team USA give up two goals in the first two periods on Saturday with Patrick Kane handing the puck to Team Europe on a 2 on 0 and so I switched the channel after that giveaway.
I watched parts of last night’s comeback attempt by Team North America vs Team Russia last night and that was some exciting hockey to watch. The youth on Team North America is fun to watch and their speed to loose pucks is incredible especially the later it gets in the game.
They didn’t have enough in the tank last night, but it was impressive. Granted I still wasn’t totally invested in the game with both the Cubs and Bears playing Monday night.
Tonight we get to watch Patrick Kane go up against Jonathan Toews once again in the biggest game ESPN can hype of the tournament. The thing is if Team USA wants to get out of bracket play they really need a win tonight over the stacked Canada team.
USA chants are really exciting during the Olympics, but I just don’t feel them yet in this tournament but things can change with one game, maybe tonight is that game for the World Cup of Hockey.
