Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Flame Out

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks will face the Calgary Flames at the United Center tonight, and they will be looking to put together back to back victories.

The Chicago Blackhawks take to the ice for the first time since their big comeback against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night to even up their season record at 3-3.

Tonight they face off against the Calgary Flames who have been struggling to stop any pucks on a nightly basis.  They have a league worst -9 goal differential and new goalie and former St. Louis Blues backstop Brian Elliott has been struggling since leaving St. Louis.

The one player from the Chicago Blackhawks that has been thriving this season has been Richard Panik. Panik has 6 goals in the first 5 games of the season which matches his season high of 6 that he recorded last season in over 30 games.  Most fans were concerned about what the Blackhawks really had in Panik heading into the season, but he’s been an offensive weapon since opening night and he leads the NHL in goals which is hard to believe.

The other player that Chicago Blackhawks fans have to like right now is Tyler Motte who picked up his second goal in as many games Saturday night.  Motte plays with a purpose and getting to play with the big boys instead of playing in Rockford looks like the right call.
