Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Arching On
Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks will take their 6 game winning streak on the road tonight, when they face their hated rivals from St. Louis.
The Chicago Blackhawks a couple weeks ago looked like a team that was going to struggle all season long to score goals, and stop from other teams from scoring on the penalty kill and in the end a team that was going to really struggle to make the playoffs.
Six straight wins later, the Chicago Blackhawks are holding down the top spot in the division, and they look like a team that will be a tough out during the playoffs. This being an odd year, this is a year the Hawks are supposed to win anyways.
The real stat is that Corey Crawford has a .976 save percentage when the Hawks are playing 5 on 5. Crawford has only given up 13 even strength goals which make the Hawks improved penalty kill that much more important. Crawford is playing out of this world if the Hawks can either stay out of the penalty box or at least continue to play better defense on the penalty kill.
The Hawks are 3 points clear of 2nd place which of course happens to be the St. Louis Blues who defeated the Chicago Blackhawks on opening night. A dish of early season revenge would be a nice dish served on Wednesday night in St. Louis.
The Chicago Blackhawks will be without Tyler Motte who was injured on Sunday night, so I guess it’s good timing that Andrew Desjardins is ready to return from his preseason injury. Can the Hawks get to 7 straight? We will see tonight!
